SEE (Save Eyes Everywhere)
SEE was founded in 1976 to raise funds for the prevention of blindness in the UK and in the developing world. We finance research work at UK hospitals and universities into all the major causes of blindness including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and macular degeneration. Iris Fund for Prevention of Blindness
For thirty years the IRIS fund has supported research to alleviate, cure and prevent blindness and serious eye disorders as well as providing vital equipment for british ophthalmic departments. Many research findings have already been translated into radical improvements in diagnostic and treatment techniques, benefiting sufferers and helping prevent blindness. In the last decade, we have raised nearly รบ8 million and maintain low administrative expenses. The majority of us will be affected sooner or later by visual impairment. The work of the iris fund is to strive, wherever possible, to consign preventable sight loss to the medical history books.

Christian Blind Mission
Christian Blind Mission was formed in 1908 and is the largest prevention of blindness charity working in the developing world. It is officially recognised by the World Health Organisation (who) as a professional organisation for the prevention of blindness. The work of the CNM centres around the prevention and cure of blindness in 108 developing countries, where 90% of the world''s blind population live. As well as medical treatment cbm works with the rehabilitation of these disabled people and their integration into society. CBM has 122 expatriate specialists (26 of whom are British) treating blindness and other disabilities, together with 10,300 national co-workers around the world.
