Founded in 1984 to rescue Horses, Ponies, Mules and Donkeys from neglect and slaughter and provide them with a caring home for the rest of their days. Our nation-wide network of voluntary Equine welfare advisors regularly investigate cases of cruelty and neglect. Where possible we offer advice and assistance, but many owners have lost interest or can no longer afford the time or money to look after their Equines. In many cases rescue is the only answer. Those who are fortunate enough to be rescued by Redwings are nursed back to health and provided with a permanent loving home in the sanctuary for the rest of their natural days. The sanctuary has seen an increase in the number of animals subjected to neglect and cruelty over recent years.
