Established in 1993, Birds of Paradise Theatre Company aims to address the deficit of people with physical disabilities currently employed as professionals in the Scottish theatre community. Our activities include: an annual professional touring production which features an integrated cast, visiting mainstream theatres throughout Scotland; a Scotland-wide outreach and education programme; intensive training courses designed specifically for people with physical disabilities who show a commitment to and aptitude for performance; the opportunity for trainee actors to work with visiting theatre practitioners; disability awareness training.
