Royal Schools for the Deaf (Manchester) Registered charity 526091
Registration Date: 01/01/1961
Founded in 1823, the school, which is situated in a 30-acre campus, caters exclusively for deaf children from 5 to 19+ with additional and complex special educational needs. A number of the children are deafblind, many have severe learning difficulties or challenging behaviour and several are Autistic. Many also have medical problems such as Epilepsy and some have physical handicaps. The curriculum is designed to prepare the children to be as independent as possible and to enable them to access community life. Our aim is to realise the potential of every child by providing challenges and experiences to develop self esteem and confidence.
