CHAS is a scottish charity dedicated to providing hospices in Scotland for children with terminal or life threatening conditions. Rachel House, Scotland's first children's hospice, in kinross, opened in march 1996. It provides support, counselling, respite and terminal care, as well as regular holiday breaks for the whole family. The service is available free to families throughout the course of a child's condition. Over ú1million a year will have to be raised to pay the running costs of Rachel House.
